Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE)

What is TRE? 

TRE is a self-care practice that helps you manage the stress we all face in our daily lives. It activates your body’s natural neurogenic tremor response to release stored stress, tension, and trauma. It’s like opening a gentle release valve to let the pressure out. All mammals have this innate ability to “shake it off,” and so do we!

Through TRE, your body remembers how to use this tremor response to regulate the nervous system, bringing you from “fight or flight” into “rest and repair.” This shift supports healing, resilience, and overall well-being — helping you thrive, not just survive.

What is a session like?

A session begins with a series of simple standing exercises and gentle stretches to warm up the body. You’ll then lie down on a yoga mat for additional poses as your body naturally begins to tremor.

Your body knows what it needs - tremoring may feel like vibrations, warmth, energy, rocking, or gentle shaking. It’s different for everyone, and whatever you feel is completely normal. It’s gentle, safe, and supportive.

After tremoring, we’ll end with a few minutes of quiet rest to integrate the experience. Sessions last about an hour. Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move easily - no gym-like workout required, just simple, gentle movement.

TRE is for anyone experiencing stress - and we all do! It’s especially beneficial if you’re ready to add a powerful new tool to your self-care toolbox. Through a series of four sessions, I’ll teach you how to safely and effectively develop your own TRE practice, so you can use it anytime you need.

All fitness levels and abilities are welcome. If you have physical limitations or are differently abled, please let me know so I can modify the practice to suit your needs.

You’re welcome to share your session with up to three others - partners, family members, or friends. TRE is also great for kids and teens!

Sliding Scale & Scholarship Spots
I reserve a limited number of sliding scale and scholarship sessions each month for those experiencing financial hardship. Group Sessions
Group sessions (TRE, Biofield Tuning, and other workshops) are often available at a lower cost. They’re a wonderful way to experience this work in community and benefit from collective healing. Look to the Events page for current group offerings here.
